formula overview
$12.99/0.14oz. – $92.79 per ounce
The formula is said to have a “no-budget” color that lasts “16 hours” without smudging or transferring. It had a light, smooth and spreadable consistency that was quite runny, but usually not too thin or too runny, making it easy to work on my lips. However, if you have less space on your lips, you may only want to use one side of the applicator at first.
Most of the shades had an opaque opacity applied in one coat. With this formula, you should give it at least 15 seconds to “set,” i. A little stickiness comes off, but no visible color. (Before it has hardened it can easily get on the teeth, but once it has hardened it does not transfer to the teeth!)
I’ve found that the initial “hardness” stage can feel a bit squishy – not uncomfortable, but I know I’m wearing something – but after an hour or two of wear it gradually becomes more flexible and comfortable. The product forgives unevenness in the lip texture and lasts a long time. There were a few shades that had more of a jelly-like, slightly translucent finish than a more “vinyl”-like, creamier sheen.
I had no issues with the color lasting with drinks (water, latte) and one meal, but two meals definitely saw it fade more noticeably. It seemed to wear out evenly. I was impressed with the overall durability, but most of all with the wearing comfort: really very comfortable and, if I may say so, slightly moisturizing while wearing the sunglasses for 10-14 hours. The lighter shades tend to fade faster compared to bolder/deeper shades, which is typical of most lip color formulas.
It had a very sweet, caramel-like scent but no discernible taste. After the first use I hardly noticed the scent.
