Home-Away star James Stewart reveals the brutal truth behind his incredible 12kg weight loss: ‘No one wants to hear it’
Home-away star James Stewart has lifted the lid on his incredible 12kg weight loss.
James told the Daily Telegraph on Monday that he tipped the scales at 101kg at his worst after resorting to food for comfort during the Covid lockdowns.
After realizing he couldn’t keep up with his 11-year-old daughter, Scout, he decided to give up alcohol for two months and eat healthier.
“Nobody wants to hear it, but most of the work gets done in the kitchen and at the bar,” he said of the secret to losing weight.
“Because everyone doesn’t mind getting a little exercise — no matter what it is.” “The hard part is the food,” he added.

He went on to say that swapping spaghetti bolognese pasta for zucchini made all the difference.
He added “no grog at all” was also difficult and he’d been forced to tell himself “the bar’s closed” to get fit again.
“I want to sit at 90kg.” “I think 90 is healthy – then I can show my kid that maybe I don’t have an eight-pack – but having a six-pack is fine,” he joked.

The actor added that his Home And Away co-stars have been very supportive on his weight loss journey as health and fitness are also important to them.
The actor first revealed the weight loss transformation in April and said he would lose weight for his family.
James posted on Instagram that he looked torn and revealed that he previously struggled to keep up physically with his daughter Scout, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Jessica Marais, an actress.
“I weighed 100 kg. Now I weigh 88 kg.” “I was sluggish … wore baggy shirts and didn’t feel well,” the actor admitted.

“The thing that bothered me the most is not being able to keep up with my daughter… now she’s having trouble keeping up with me!” Haha!’
James, who plays Justin Morgan on the Channel Seven soap, also offered some advice for anyone trying to “get in shape” – revealing the progress hasn’t been as easy as it sounds.
“To anyone trying to get in shape, I don’t want to sugarcoat it… instead of a beer and burger, grab a protein shake and a salad. Then just put on your sneakers and go work out!” he said.
