According to a study, getting a good night’s sleep could make it easier to stick to exercise and diet goals.
University of Pittsburgh researchers found that people who reported regular, uninterrupted sleep were better at sticking to exercise and diet plans while trying to lose weight.
The American team set up a 12-month weight loss program for 125 adults classified as either overweight or obese.
Sleeping habits were measured at baseline, after six months and after 12 months.
Those who recorded higher sleep scores adhered more closely to the program’s exercise and nutrition plans.
