How did John Goodman lose 200 pounds? As the Roseanne star walked the red carpet in France in a chic tuxedo, we take a look into her new routine
John Goodman showed off his new slim physique Tuesday while attending The Golden Nymphs event in Monte-Carlo.
The Emmy-winning actor looked handsome on the red carpet in a fitted black suit and bow tie.
The 70-year-old actor, who has lost a whopping 200 pounds over the years, was clean-shaven and wore his short hair parted to one side.
The comedian vowed in 2007 to rethink his lifestyle and lose weight.
And Goodman proved he was sticking to his plan as he flaunted his much slimmer figure in Monaco over the weekend and attended the 62nd Monte Carlo TV Festival, where he served as jury president.

The Rosanne star began his journey in 2007 when he quit drinking, but his trainer then took him to a new level of weight loss and fitness.
According to his trainer, he introduced the star to a “Mediterranean eating plan” that focuses on fish, nuts, olive oil, vegetables and fruits.
John also exercises six days a week, doing 10,000 to 12,000 steps daily and using an elliptical bike and treadmill.
The actor has always been open about his love of food, telling People, “It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your butt and figure out what you’re going to eat next.”
In 2016, John told Howard Stern, “I took it slow.” “I just wanted to change my lifestyle.”
He explained that his new way of life is “an ongoing process for the rest of my life.”
The star revealed that he used to look in the mirror every day and think, “I’ve got to deal with this for the rest of the day, do I have to deal with this idiot?”
The following year he told ABC about his weight loss: ‘I used to take a three month break, lose 60 or 70 pounds, then treat myself to a six pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits.’
However, he decided that this time he would be really disciplined and do things differently.

“This time I wanted to take it slow.” Move, exercise. “I’m getting to an age where I can’t afford to sit still.”
As part of his lifestyle makeover, the actor gave up alcohol, telling AARP in 2018, ‘It was basically just portion control and I don’t need that.’ I just put everything in my mouth.’
Discussing his alcohol addiction, John told Rolling Stone magazine, “All this anger was fueled by fear, and the drinking was for fun.”
“But I was probably born an alcoholic. But most of the anger is gone. “When I’m not watching the news, I’m cool.”
